Mr. Eli Albarado

Eli won "Teacher for the Day" and got to be our teacher last Friday!  We enjoyed a fun day, full of special things he wanted to do.  The children thought it was SO funny calling him Mr. Eli.  The morning started off with Davis bringing him an apple! :)

Eli wasn't too sure about this gift, but he sure did enjoy it at lunch time!

Finley came right in and announced to him that she would be in carpool that afternoon. :)

Ruth wanted to know who was leader and caboose?  Boy, a teacher has a lot to think about in the mornings!

Mr. Eli stood with the teachers and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

He also helped our leader for the day, Frazier, call roll and do our calendar.

And in his lesson plan book was to make green play dough!

But in the end, he changed his mind to blue!
Mr. Eli, you were a wonderful teacher and helper on Friday.  We LOVED being your students!

Ending the day with the Clifford movie and popcorn!  Thanks Mr. Eli!!!!  We want you back again soon!

Mat Man and the Quilt Drawing

The students loved learning our Mat Man song last week!  We use our Handwriting Without Tears "lines and curves" to build a man while singing a fun and catchy song.  Get your child to sing it at home!  It really helps them, when drawing a person, to remember the parts of the body that Mat Man has. Hope you will enjoy these pictures!

Our quilt raffle drawing was on Friday.   Mrs. Jones came into the classroom that afternoon with our box and it was FILLED with tickets!!!  Thank you to all who bought tickets!  I sure wish everyone could have won our class quilt.  Mrs. Jones drew Julia's name out and boy was she excited to get to bring it back home! :)  I want to thank Julia's family and grandmothers again for dedicating so much time and talent to our quilt this year!  Congratulations Julia!!!

Q is for Quilt

I am so pleased to get to show you our wonderful class quilt!  It is so darling.....these pictures don't even do it justice! I want to thank Julia's parents and grandmother for working so hard on this quilt.  We gave them the painted squares and some fabric and they completely transformed it into this masterpiece.  In fact when our art teacher, Sue Skillman, saw our quilt she was very impressed that it was truly "quilted!"  They did a fabulous job and you just have to see it in person.  All of the quilts are hanging in the activities building now and I invite you to stop by to take a look!
There is a raffle ticket sale going on now for the quilt.  You may sign up on Sign Up Genius to order tickets for the drawing.

The drawing will be next Wednesday afternoon.  So go buy some tickets...You're going to want this!! :)
